Survival Wisdom & Know How Mar 07, 2010 An Excellent, thorough collection of usable survival tactics for the everyday person who has had little or no survival training. Possibly could be a life saver at the right time and place. This is an over-sized, soft back compilation of 480 pages of clear type and black and white illustrations that prepare one for just about any human need to stay alive on the face of the earth. Although it is bulky, it is soft and pliable, about two pounds I would estimate, and could be taken along in a back pack, although it might seem more reasonable to study and learn the applicable parts for your outing and make notes to take along instead. A huge amount of information for an economical price.

helpful, but not convenient Jun 05, 2009 This book was certainly full of important information. While some of it may not be all up to date, this book draws on the tried and true methods of subsisting in the wilderness. That being said, it is a true "survival" guide, and not just an introduction to camping. More importantly, and troublesome, is the unwieldy trim size. It was nearly 12" x 14", and at 488 pages, you'll need to either memorize all the info, or write it down some place handy. A good book, all in all, but not convenient.

Almost all the information here is outdated. May 31, 2009 It is a big book, I guess they pulled up the kitchen sink and put in here as well. Mostly like a shotgun pattern....if you throw everything in old or new....you have to be impressed about the size. It is content that is important here, not size. Military survival manuals of all types are more to the point with time proven skills. Oh the small print come on give me a break, it makes my eyes hurt. Keep it simple and to the point! There are better buys out there.
