 Great so far Jul 27, 2010
I purchased this last month and have used it quite a bit. So far so good, I love it. I'm a novice sewer who has been taking some classes at a local store (renting one of their higher-end machines). I decided on the Brother CS-6000I after a lot of research. This was within my price range and gets excellent reviews. I did notice that when I set it on a hard surface I have some of the tension issues that people talk about, but if I set it on a softer surface (carpet) I have no issues with the tension at all. I have sewn through thin cotton and knits as well as multiple layers of heavy denim. As long as I switch to the appropriate needle....no issues! I also fixed the crotch-seam in a pair of my step-sons work pants that are a heavy twill. The crotch had so many layers I didn't think this machine would be able to do it. But I switched to a 90 needle and gave it a try....no problem! So far this machine has been a little trooper and I love that it only weighs 13ish pounds....easy to carry.

My sister in law had just purchased this machine when I came to visit .I was so impressed by it that when I returned home, I immediately went on line and purchased one for myself. I purchased this machine as a secondary sewing machine that would be lighter to carry back and forth to quilting classes and have all the great functions that I needed to have. It comes with very clear instructions to set up so that you can just sit down and sew immediately. At quilting class, I've even convinced others to purchase one. It is a great value for the money.

The CS6000I is all and more you can expect from a machine in this price range and it clearly demonstated it's versatility and ease of use.

The Brother sewing machine I purchased is amazing. I haven't sewed in years, and wanted a good machine but not super expensive since both my hubby and I are retired. This was the perfect machine. So well made and fun to use. I originally purchased a singer about a month before waited for it, and when it came hubby and I lifted it out of the box and screws fell out,the side near the needle feel off. I was not happy. So when I got this one at a better price then the singer with more bells and whisles, I was a bit worried. But from the moment it came out to using it I have been charmed. DON'T MISS this item, grab it at this great price you won't be disappointed.

Hi, would be beneficial if being posted outside the USA to tell customers about the differnt voltage, and the machine will not work unless a differnt electrical adapter is fitted.
